Overview

Fee Finder helps individuals and business professionals quickly and accurately calculate an Auto loan, Mortgage Loan, or Tip for a meal.

Features:

• Three separate calculators – auto, mortgage, and tip.
• Easily re-calculate changes by updating the input variable(s).
• Input entry is restricted to a numeric keypad eliminating the need to manually switch to a numeric keyboard for number entry.

Issues:

• The number one (1) on the keypad is missing in Portrait mode. This is a known bug within the operating system of the BlackBerry Storm and has been identified in v4.7.0.75. The latest leaked beta (4.7.0.109) operating system for the BlackBerry Storm does not have this problem. A work around to input the number one (1) into a calculation is to temporarily switch to Landscape mode, input your number, and then switch back to Portrait mode. If the application is used in Landscape mode, this is not an issue.

Updates:

• 0.4.4
  • Cleaned up the user interface on the three calculator screens to make them fit within the dimensions of the Blackberry Storm screen (portrait and landscape).
  • Added a function to automatically close the virtual keyboard once a value is selected in any of the drop down fields of the three calculators.
  • Minor changes to the three calculators screens (wording and formatting).

  • Corrected the Tip calculator display when using the “Clear” button. The tax field did not clear and retained its value.

  • Changed user input labels on the Tip calculator.
  • On the Tip calculator, the tax field is optional. It is only necessary if a tip should be based on the cost of your meal excluding the tax.

  • Changed the percentage field to a user selectable field.

Future Improvements:

• Possible addition to the Mortgage Calculator to calculate Canadian Mortgages since they are done a bit differently than in the U.S.A.
• Possible addition to the Tip Calculator to input bill amounts per person to create a separate bill for each person.
• Graphics…I am not strong in this department but this is on my to do list. Any volunteers (send me an email)?
